The Smart Cycling Youth Bicycling Skills Clinic will involve teaching the Youth Bicycle Safety program from the League of American Bicyclists with six different stations covering bicycle inspections/ABC Quick Check; Helmet Fittings (giveaways including helmets, blinky lights, and other safety equipment); Mounting/dismounting/riding in straight line; Weaving between cones; Scanning/signaling/turning; and Circling and changing directions (Figure 8).  The students will be expected to bring a bicycle and a willingness to learn something new; however, a limited number of bicycles will be available that have been inspected by a local bicycle shop mechanic.  There are no prerequisites of the class.  The clinic is open to children between the ages of 6 to 12 years old.  If it is raining, then will postpone the event two weeks with notice to all of the registrants at least a day in advance of the event.
