Smart Cycling - TS101 On-Bike Portion Only

March 23, 2019 9:00 AM - 2:00 PM

A Smart Cycling On Bike class.

Registration has ended for this event

Traffic Skills 101 (TS101) is a fast-paced class that will give you the confidence to ride safely and legally in traffic. This class is a prerequisite for becoming an LCI cycling instructor.  In order to take the TS101 On-bike portion of this class, you MUST take and pass the online course (http://www.bikeed.org/) first.  Screen print your scores and email them to ahartzog923@gmail.com - you must pass the online course to take the on-bike class.  The online course work will take approximately 4 hours (or less) to complete.  You can spread out the online work by doing 1-4 modules at a time.  It will save your progress allowing you to return at a later date to complete the course.  You must score 85% to be eligible for the LCI Seminar program.  If you do not receive an 85% score, we will work bring that up.

The on-bike portion of the TS101 class consists of practicing parking lot skills and riding in traffic as a group.  You must have a bike helmet and your bicycle must be in working order.

The class will meet at the Botanical Conservatory.  There is ample on-street parking nearby and all meter spots are free on the weekends.  There is bike parking in front of the Conservatory and I am working on a secure place inside where you can put your bike while we fill out some paperwork.
