Children's Bicycle Safety Clinic

This FREE 2 hour safety clinic is based on the League of American Bicyclists Bicycling Skills 123 course. The clinic will begin with a helmet check, bike fit, and bicycle inspection by our local bike shop, Headquarters Bike & Outdoor. Activities will focus on these particular bike handling skills:
1. Starting & Stopping
2. Avoiding hazards
3. Scanning, signaling, & balance
4. Turning & Yielding

We will wrap up the afternoon with fun games, certificates of completion, and freebies to take home! 

This clinic is limited to the first 12 participants to register online on a first-come, first-served basis. Participants must be between the ages of 7-11 and are required to bring their own bicycle, helmet, water bottle, and snack. Parents are asked to remain on the premises during the clinic.

This safety clinic will be taught by LMC Outdoor Recreation Instructor/League Certified Instructor #5381, Deana Acklin. Assiting Deana will be two student athletes from the Lees-McRae Cyclling Team, Veronica Laughton and Brendan Bengtson.

*The Student Recreation Center(SRC) is located on back campus of Lees-McRae College. 
*A minimum of 3 participants must be enrolled for this clinic. If you have registered your child, you will be contacted by Friday, April 26 if the clinic is cancelled due to lack of enrollment.
